4th Annual Sunshine State Karate Tournament

Golden Gate Karate School proudly presents the 4th Annual Sunshine State Karate Tournament on Saturday, May 2nd. The tournament will feature traditional light to non-contact events, including forms, sparring, and breaking competitions for Gup and Dan members. A seminar will also be offered for practitioners aged 9 and older with a minimum rank of an (Orange Belt). Join us for a day of skill, camaraderie, and celebration of martial arts!
New for This Year
We are excited to introduce two new events, including a Weapons Forms division, providing competitors with additional opportunities to demonstrate precision, skill, and discipline.
Creative Breaking – for the Black Belt Division
During the Board Breaking competition, Dan members will have the opportunity to perform a Creative Breaking routine, which will be judged on technique, creativity, difficulty, and overall execution.
Join us for a day of competition, camaraderie, and celebration of the martial arts spirit. We look forward to welcoming athletes, families, and supporters for an unforgettable tournament experience.

**Timely Registration (March 27th - April 29th)**
- 1 Event: $55

**Additional Costs:**
- **Board Breaking Competition:** $25
- **Karate Seminar:** $25
- **Spectator Fee:** $3 per person or family $5 (Pay in cash at the tournament) -
- **T-Shirts:** $25 each

Black Belt Creative Board Breaking Competition
• Open to Black Belts only.
• Competitors will showcase creative and dynamic breaking combinations.
• Judging will be based on creativity, difficulty, execution, and overall performance.
• This division will run for 30 to 40 minutes.

“Power” Board Breaking Competition – Junior Division
(Gup Members: White Belts to Red Belts)
• The Board Breaking Competition will utilize rebreakable boards for fairness and accuracy.
• Format: Single elimination — practitioners who fail to break the boards will sit out for the remainder of the competition.
• All practitioners must use a hammer fist to break the boards.
• Participants must wear padded gloves — safety is the top priority.
Age Groups:
• 8 to 10 years
• 11 to 13 years
• 14 years and up
